I achieved this using this query.
db.collection.update( { _id: 12345 }, { $set: { "Property1": "X", "Property2": true, "Property3": 123 } }, {upsert: true} )
You should iterate through. For your specific case:
db.person.find().snapshot().forEach( function (elem) { db.person.update( { _id: elem._id }, { $set: { name: elem.firstname + ' ' + elem.lastname } } ); } );
